There is No “Right Way”
There is no "Right Way!"
Letting go of others' expectations is a subject I feel super passionate about. I have hosted workshops on it, and last summer, I wrote this blog about it!
Why am I passionate about the subject? Because it is so easy (and so common) to internalize expectations, that kept us feeling stuck, scared, and unable to take action toward our dreams.
I truly believe that there is no secret sauce; there is no right way. What works for one person is not something that can be copied and pasted to work for another.
And by 'works,' I mean makes them feel truly alive, excited about living their lives and deeply supported to move through moments of uncertainty and challenges.
ANOTHER LAYER
It wasn't until I recently had the opportunity to receive support from,
the incredible Victoria Bauman and I realized I had another layer of this to let go of.
I had come to deeply know that my way is the only right way for me, without a roadmap, rules, or a 5-step plan to follow. Yet, I had been holding onto a fear that I would mess it up or that I would: "do it wrong".
Thoughts like "what if I miss this opportunity or make the wrong choice" became so prominent for me that I was stuck in fear so subtle, that it primarily reared its head in significant procrastination (more on that in a later post, they are 100% connected!!).
So what did I realize?
I cannot do it wrong it simply is not possible.
If I am:
Open to learning and growing from every step I take.
Working on connecting with my intuition, and truly feeling into what feels right for me.
Acknowledging where I feel the most alive, and following through with prioritizing these things.
Letting those I love in on the journey (hello accountability!)
It will all work out; what's meant for me will not pass me by.
This feels, in some ways, a little bit scary (as someone who struggles with trying to control outcomes), but mostly I feel so much lighter knowing: that there is no right or wrong way.
One more time for the people in the back:
There is no right way; YOU CAN NOT DO IT WRONG!
